What this course covers
The 60-hour broker post-licensing course is required for every new Florida broker before their first license renewal. Like the sales associate equivalent, it is a one-time requirement, separate from continuing education, with a deadline that does not move.
Where the 72-hour course prepared you for the broker exam, this one prepares you to run a brokerage. The difference is between knowing the rules for trust accounting and having a reconciliation routine you actually follow every month.
Opening and operating a brokerage
Choosing a business structure, registering it correctly, and the practical work of opening an office. Systems, staffing and the operating costs new brokers routinely underestimate.
Recruiting, training and supervising
Bringing associates into a firm, setting expectations, and building the training that keeps them out of trouble. Supervision is a legal duty, and this section covers what adequate supervision looks like in practice rather than in principle.
Trust account administration
Day-to-day escrow management: receipts, disbursements, monthly reconciliation, and record retention. What to do when a dispute arises over funds you are holding, and the notification requirements that follow.
Managing risk
Where liability sits, how to reduce it, and what insurance does and does not cover. Written policy, documentation habits, and handling a complaint before it becomes a disciplinary matter.
Planning and growth
Business planning at brokerage level, financial management, and the judgment involved in growing a firm at a pace it can support.
Why the deadline matters
Post-licensing education is due before your first renewal as a broker. Missing it has serious consequences for your license status. Confirm your renewal date with the DBPR and work backwards from it.
How the course works
Fully online and self-paced, with your time tracked across the full 60 hours. Completions are reported to the DBPR within five business days.
